Team and Job Overview
Over the past two years, the company has more than doubled after investing heavily in our Golf Events and Brand Solution divisions.  This role will support 15 active legal entities that generate service-based revenue ranging from limited to full scope event management services to holding exclusive rights to sell assets for some of the most notable brands in the world. 

We are looking for a Director of Accounting to oversee and lead the ongoing accounting function for the US. This role will work closely with the CFO and the other members of the Finance team to create the best-in-class service experience for senior leadership, our business leaders, colleagues, and other relevant stakeholders. This role will start as an individual contributor, but may take on direct reports after onboarding.

Essential Job Duties

  • Process transactions such as the creation of outgoing invoices, application of cash receipts, approval for incoming invoices, expense reports, and credit card transactions on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy
  • Ensure all assigned legal entities are closed accurately by established deadlines, and twice annually assist FP&A in the budget/forecast process \Be a resource to our business leaders by effectively communicating results on a monthly basis and, when beneficial, share meaningful data points
  • Develop, maintain, and implement standard accounting practices, policies, and principles in accordance with GAAP and PGA TOUR best practices
  • Prepare deliverables required under contractual arrangements, annual audits, and tax return preparation
  • Develop and leverage team members strengths to achieve these objectives, maximize and lobby for resources when needed
  • Assist team members in developing analytical skills necessary to make appropriate judgements given facts and circumstances presented
  • Encourage staff to pursue new tasks and challenges related to overall department goals and objectives
  • Assist in the implementation of any new accounting tools and process changes
  • Special projects or other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Traits

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA/MBA a plus)
  • Eight or more years of related working experience (event experience a plus), including experience managing two or more direct reports
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Previous SAP or Microsoft Dynamics experience a plus

Job Conditions

  • Essential duties are performed on site at our Scottsdale, AZ office.
