Overall Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to create an engaged digital community, increasing the profile and visibility of the Commonwealth Sport brand.

The role is responsible for the implementation of the Commonwealth Sport digital content strategy, planning the delivery, measurement and reporting of campaigns and all activationacross digital and social media channels, web and CRM to build loyal and engaging communities across the Commonwealth. 

Accountabilities/Responsibilities

• As part of the Marketing and Communications team, responsibility for developing and delivering the content plans and channel strategy, and regular ‘365’ content planning, developing an ‘Always on Approach’. 

• Work with the Digital Content Executive to deliver high quality, relevant, engaging, strategic, and fun content, targeting multiple audiences across Commonwealth Sport channels to drive interaction and engagement, building loyalty with existing fanbase and growing new audiences.

• Work with the Brand Manager to develop digital and content approaches to support the brand strategy and foster deeper engagement with target audiences leveraging the brand's unique attributes to create meaningful connections and build loyalty. 

• Oversee the growth of the Commonwealth Sport social channels driving interaction and engagement. 

• Interrogate digital data and assess performance metrics and KPIs to identify how tomaximise platform and channel use.

• Develop fan engagement campaigns that retain and engage fans year-round and building effective, loyal communities. 

• Manage digital and social media plan and budget optimising for objective and reporting performance metrics for all work.

• Identify trends and opportunities for growth to deliver revenue opportunities across digital channels including developing a comprehensive YouTube strategy.

• Overseeing the Commonwealth Sport website, ensuring the customer journey delivers value and interactive engagement.

• Develop and implement the CRM strategy. Work with the Brand and Media and Communications manager to develop e-newsletters for both internal and external audiences to grow the Commonwealth Sport global fan base and maintain an engaged, loyal community across all stakeholders.

• Liaise with Commonwealth Sport’s 's member associations - CGAs to collectively promote engaging, creative global campaigns and stories to build awareness of the Commonwealth Sport Movement.

• Advising, guiding, supporting and working as an integrated member of 'one team' alongside Commonwealth Games OCs to deliver Games-time content strategy.

• Access the latest trends and developments in digital media to ensure Commonwealth Sport can build its digital capability and reach and maintains a radical and fresh digital strategy and delivery approach.

Competence / Knowledge / Skills required

Experience

• Relevant tertiary qualifications, ideally in digital marketing (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent). Or relevant experience.

• Proven experience in digital marketing for a major sport/or in a major sport/multi-sport event environment.

• Proven experience in devising engaging customer journey experiences and user retargeting

• Experience across all digital channels.

• Ability to use research and insights to generate effective measurable strategies,  campaigns and content. .

• Familiarity with analytics software (such as Google Analytics and Net Insight).

• Experience of working with brands to develop their online social media footprint.

• Experience working in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.

• Knowledge of SEO and SEM tactics.
