The Role:

Creating and providing opportunities for all full PGA Members to access relevant training and education which is reflective of the knowledge and skills demanded by the various roles that they undertake within the golf industry. Overseeing the process of recognising, accrediting and recording the personal development of each PGA Member, the role includes:

  • Developing, delivering and maintaining PGA Learn, our digital platform providing online learning opportunities for its members now.
  • Identifying relevant courses, qualifications and certificates relating to roles within the golf industry
  • Negotiating the supply of learning (in-person and online), maintaining SLA’s
  • Overseeing the smooth delivery of Member education events (in-person and online)
  • Investigating the latest R&D, measuring, evaluating and reporting
  • Overseeing the recognition, accreditation and recording of Members’ personal development
  • Overseeing daily operations linked to PGA developed and managed qualifications (Director of Golf and ASQ GC Management)
  • Promotion of all CPD activities and opportunities, overseeing CPD area on the website
  • Effectively line managing the small team of administrators, driving service and quality improvements
  • Assist with developing budgets, forecasts, approving and monitoring invoices

Role Requirements:

Education/Qualifications/Key Competences/Personal Profile

  • Experience of learning systems and procedures; arranging events; managing a team in a ‘customer-led’ environment
  • Educated to degree or similar level or relevant proven experience
  • Web design and build, evaluating teaching materials, knowledge of golf and the roles of Members, the golf industry, and management of golf facilities are all desirable
  • Essential competencies include: communication and presentation skills, knowledge and understanding of the structure and business of golf;
  • Ability to influence and negotiate with a range of partners and stakeholders; Motivation; Delegation; Planning and Organising; Managing multiple projects to strict deadlines.
  • Innovative, business-focused with strong people skills.
