The Communications Manager will play a key role within our Corporate Affairs Team in devising and delivering communications programmes to explain and promote the work of the LTA.

The Communications Manager will play a key role within our Communications Team in devising and delivering communications programmes to protect the reputation of the LTA, and work across the business to coordinate communication activity to enable a programme of proactive communications which promotes all areas of the LTA’s work.

Key Accountabilities
- Support the Head of Strategic Communications to identify target audiences and deliver a communications programme which builds advocacy and engagement with the business.
- Manage and lead on the planning, promotion and implementation of all aspects of communications programmes.
- Write and implement communications plans for various LTA projects and initiatives.
- With other members of the communications team maintain a communications planning grid that tracks all proactive and reactive communications activity and opportunities across the business.
- Provide first-class copy for a variety of uses including speeches, articles, briefing documents, presentations and online content, working closely with senior management and colleagues on these.
- Provide advice to senior management on a broad range of communication issues and plans.
- Deliver external communications programmes and campaigns which promote the business, including where necessary pro-active media and publicity work.
- Responsibility for jointly running and promoting the Annual LTA Awards, including publicity activity around nominations, the ceremony itself, and the winners.
- Develop and implement engagement programmes for key stakeholders and work closely with the Internal Communications & Engagement Manager with internal communications activity.
- Work closely with external partners to deliver agreed projects to time and budget.
- Work closely with Communications and Marketing colleagues to ensure all channels operate in a consistent and coordinated way.
- Develop external communications tools in line with the communications strategy.
- Maintain and update weekly briefing documents for use by colleagues across the business.
- Drive LTA representation at conferences and public speaking opportunities, including the preparation of briefing materials and presentations for speakers
- Oversees and complies submissions to relevant industry and public awards
- Build, own and leverage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage external agencies and suppliers and related project budgets as required.
