We are looking for a committed individual with a passion for the sports, leisure & hospitality industry and a drive to make a real difference. As Commercial & Sales Director you will join our Senior Leadership Team reporting directly to the Chief Executive.

Leigh Sports Village is a pioneering multi-sector development and is now one of the finest sporting hubs in the North West. The Sports Village provides state-of-the-art facilities for sport, education, wellbeing, leisure and culture and serves the local community and the region as a whole.

The stadium is at the heart of the complex which is home to Leigh Centurions Rugby League Club, Manchester United Women’s and Manchester United’s U23s football teams. The stadium has hosted mainstream concerts such as Elton John & Lionel Richie and major sporting events. In 2022 the Sports Village will host the Rugby League World Cup and the UEFA Women’s European Football Championships in 2022. The Stadium accommodates for a large range of conferencing and banqueting events.

The Village facilities also include a sports arena with state of the art sports pitches, an athletics stadium, further education college, sports centre, hotel, restaurants & retail outlets.

We are looking for a committed individual with a passion for the sports, leisure & hospitality industry and a drive to make a real difference. As Commercial & Sales Director you will join our Senior Leadership Team reporting directly to the Chief Executive.

You will be responsible for developing and delivering the overall commercial strategy for the organisation, which will include planning and implementing sales and marketing plans, forecasting, and reporting for the year ahead. You will ensure that all commercial management strategies are set for all revenue streams and ensuring that your sales team are working towards achieving those targets. Additionally, you will be responsible for identifying and securing sponsorship revenues for LSV and becoming the day-to-day contact with existing key partners to ensure good relationships are maintained.

You need to have confident communication skills and an ability to quickly establish rapport with clients, partners and colleagues. You will need to be proactive, organised in your work, able to work to deadlines and be accountable for your work. You must be sales focused and have a strategic vision on how you can take the business to the next level.

You will have several years’ experience, and a proven track record of success in a similar role. Experience in the stadia/hospitality sector would be advantageous. You must have flexible working pattern to fit in with the needs of the business (some Bank holiday/evening/weekend work may be required).
