Festival UK* 2022 is a new major nationwide celebration of creativity and innovation, backed by £120million of new investment. The Festival will take place across England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales throughout 2022. It will deliver a programme of ground-breaking new commissions with the ambition of reaching millions; achieving the projects two objectives of bringing people together and promoting the UK's creativity to the world.


Led by Chief Creative Officer, Martin Green CBE, the Festival has announced a £3m R&D Project to find Creative teams drawn from across the worlds of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics. Up to 30 teams will each receive a budget of £100,000 to imagine and design a potential project for the Festival.

The Festival will demonstrate the vital and inspirational role that creativity can play in our changing world; and how unforgettable experiences can make life better. This investment comes at a time of particular need for sectors impacted by the global pandemic and will support the creation of work and jobs.

The Business and Contracts Manager will be an integral part of the corporate operations and business integration team. Your primary responsibility will be to manage and oversee the end-to-end process for engaging the suppliers and contractors required for delivery of Festival UK* 2022.

We are looking for an experienced business manager to work with the Festival UK* 2022 team, Organising Committee colleagues and in a complex multi-stakeholder environment to ensure effective integration. The successful candidate will have substantial skills in business management and experience of working on publicly funded project(s). Festival UK* 2022 is a creative programme, and we're seeking a solution focused individual to fulfil this role with a strong emphasis on innovation and strategic thinking.

Responsibilities


Business and Contract Management

  • Support the smooth operation of Festival 2022 Ltd. as a subsidiary of the Organising Committee through strong project management of key corporate operations and business integration activities.
  • Plan, develop and maintain procurement pipeline; working with Organising Committee colleagues to ensure the effective sourcing of goods and services for the delivery of the Festival.
  • Working with finance, legal and procurement; support the implementation of the Festival's commercial strategy, defining requirements and maintaining the overall project schedule.
  • Develop outstanding working relationship with colleagues to understand and document their supplier requirements; preparing suitably detailed Scope(s) of Works and tender documentation.


Project Management

  • Provide day-to-day project management support to the Business Integration team, facilitating collaborative forward planning across all areas of the subsidiary (and with the Organising Committee).
  • Support the implementation of an overall risk management plan for the Festival, including escalation and communication to key stakeholders and delivery partners.
  • Define and deliver continuous improvement to our internal processes, to ensure they are streamlined and embedded in our ways of working through implementation of change management strategies.
  • Administer project schedules, risk and issue trackers and other assurance documentation to maintain accurate and up to date business management information.


Salary: £40,000 - 45,000
