OVERVIEW
The BA (Hons) Sport Business Management aims to develop your capabilities in technical, supervisory and managerial aspects of sport business. You'll be able to experience the world of sport management in an engaging and real-life way. This courses focuses on how to develop business and professional attributes through effective communication using a variety of tools. You’ll learn how to demonstrate strong consumer understanding and have a mind-set that takes measured risks, that perceives and creates opportunities, and the resourcefulness to pursue opportunities in an ethical and sustainable way.

WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
The BA (Hons) Sport Business Management balances academic rigour with industry readiness, skills, knowledge and experience. You'll develop a range of relevant skills and knowledge alongside personal development goals. By linking the course directly to industry advice and expertise, we will you to become 'industry ready' from the very beginning of your study. We have strong employer links, as well as links with professional and trade associations which has enabled us to provide an outstanding student experience.
As a student on our BA (Hons) Sport Business Management course, you will develop an understanding of the business of sport. This will be from both a global perspective as well as examining the sport industry in the UK. Key business concepts and theories will be embedded into the course to review sport business and best practices in sport management.
Emphasis will be placed on leadership and management of sport while developing the strategic skills needed to assess the sport business landscape. This programme is exciting and innovative facilitating understanding of all aspects required to set up a new business or enterprise.
You will develop capability in technical, supervisory and managerial aspects of sport business. Key consideration will be placed on attributes needed to thrive in this industry as a graduate, including effective communication, ethics, demonstrating strong consumer understanding and developing a mind-set that allows you to learn how to take measured risks.

Teaching is delivered through a diverse range of methods, not only to develop your different skills but also to enrich the learning experience. As well as traditional seminars and lectures, you’ll have the chance to go on trips to businesses across London, learn from guest speakers and gain useful, practical experience. Our location in East London - near Canary Wharf in Docklands, the Olympic Park in Stratford and multiple world-leading sporting venues - gives us incredible access to exciting business partners in one of the world's greatest cities.
We also work closely with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), delivering workshops and events in partnership at UEL. Students really benefit from the industry insight that these events provide, as well as the networking opportunities they present.
We encourage students to find internships during the course of their studies, offer a work-based learning module in the second year and allow you to arrange a year of work between years 2 and 3; through our Global Scholars scheme, you'll also be able to study abroad for a full year, enriching your CV and your own student experience.
Day-to-day teaching reflects the world of work in order to prepare you for your future career. You'll work on projects, deliver presentations, maintain a portfolio and work on group tasks - all ways of working that you will encounter after you leave university.
