Job Description

Realising the FIFA 2.0 vision, the Tournament & Events Division within FIFA is responsible for the successful operational delivery of all the FIFA World Cups.


Currently we are looking to recruit, within the Workforce Management department, a proactive and service-oriented person with the ability to work in cross-divisional teams as:

Volunteer Manager

Your duties

Development & management of a global Volunteer Program across all FIFA tournaments and events.

Ensuring the scoping, planning, development and running of efficient volunteer programs with the aim to ensure the recruitment, training and management of the required volunteers in close co-operation with the concerned Project Leads, as well as with national and international stakeholders (e.g. local established business structures, LOC, etc.)

Initiating development of an innovative Volunteer IT-tool, in order to ensure that Workforce Management continues to add value to the Tournaments & Events divisional end-result

Managing the human and material resources necessary for the task, in conjunction with internal stakeholders as well as with external partners

Keeping the project within the defined objectives & budget, ensuring that all involved understand and accept their responsibilities

Elaborating the content and running of different training modules (including e-learning) for all FIFA volunteers

Creating communication channels to (potential) volunteers (e.g. digital, social media, website, etc.) and create a worldwide FIFA volunteer database

Responsible for a successful transfer of knowledge and debriefing within the own area between the different tournaments by following the set organizational guidelines

Our requirements

Good level of spoken & written English; Spanish, French or German or any other language a plus

Relevant professional experience in volunteer work, mainly knowledge of its respective methodologies, planning and controlling tools

6-8 years in event organisation, preferably a world class sport event 

Volunteer management responsible in international sport event

Willingness/capability to learn and innovate

Team-oriented/team-player, flexible and dynamic
