About the Role

The Group Sales Managers will be responsible for maximising direct sales of tickets to groups for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, based in either Sydney or Melbourne. Reporting to the General Manager, Hospitality & Group Sales, this is a unique opportunity for a highly experienced, capable and ambitious sales professional to make a direct contribution to bringing Cricket to new audiences, as part of a major world event.

Cricket has high aspirations for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2020 as a platform to accelerate the current growth of cricket as a game for women and girls. This includes playing Semi Finals and Finals at the SCG and MCG respectively, with the latter providing the opportunity to set a new world record for the highest attendance at a women’s sporting fixture. The Group Sales Manager will play a pivotal role in helping to reach these new benchmarks!

This role will initially be contracted until the end of the Women’s tournament on 8 March 2020.

About you

  • You have a passion for sales, with a consistent track record in achieving and exceeding sales targets, and a high level of commercial acumen and negotiation skills
  • You have experience successfully managing a sales pipeline, and are a strategic thinker with demonstrated planning skills
  • You are extremely personable, with a strong character and outstanding stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • You are well presented, with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • You have a natural instinct for analysis and generating valuable insights from financial data

The ICC T20 World Cup is cricket’s ultimate prize in the fastest growing and most accessible format of the game. T20 is the vehicle to attract new, more diverse and younger audiences to the game.

In 2020, Australia has a unique opportunity to host this major global event – two World Cups in the same year! The eyes of the world will be on Australia as the 10 best Women’s teams and 16 best Men’s teams, compete to be crowned World Champions.  This will be the first time that the ICC T20 World Cup has been held in Australia and follows the highly successful ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, staged across Australia and New Zealand, which delivered record-breaking attendances, visitation and global television audiences.
