This is a position reporting to and supporting the Commercial Director with:
- Research and development of significant sponsorship opportunities
- Qualifying prospective sponsors Analysis of markets and trends
- Compiling data to support proposals (case-studies, research and evaluation)
- Preparation of proposal documents and presentations
- Participate in meetings and presentations as appropriate UK and international travel may be required
- Minimum of three years previous experience in a relevant sponsorship/partnership role(s)
- Additional language(s) an advantage, but not essential

A competent and ambitious sponsorship professional with a minimum of three years relevant experience is being sought for an exciting new role with Clipper Ventures, the organiser and rights holder of the unique Clipper Round the World Yacht Race. We are building on a 20-year success story, with an enviable track record, and require a talented and experienced candidate to help us develop compelling propositions for long-term partnerships with new sponsor destination, business and consumer brands.
The Clipper Race is the greatest ocean adventure around the planet! But not for elite professionals, these are everyday people from all walks of life with a sense of adventure, who take on the world’s toughest oceans. The biennial event takes almost a year to cover more than 40,000 nautical miles in a series of races between six continents.
The crew compete in eleven identical 70-foot ocean racing yachts which provide a global marketing platform for our sponsoring partners who acquire branding and activation rights to not only align with the Corinthian spirit and values of the Clipper Race but also to entertain guests in a stimulating way; engage with a unique global network of international business leaders and senior government officials; raise brand profile and positioning, including an extensive media footprint reaching over 170 territories; plus opportunities for ethical, environmental and socially responsible initiatives. Host ports have the added advantage of generating major economic impact in addition to showcasing themselves on the world stage, transforming perceptions and developing long-lasting legacy projects.
This job role will be based at our global headquarters in Gosport, Portsmouth Harbour, UK.
Salary is circa £28K-£32K commensurate with experience.
Benefits include 25 days annual leave per annum and pension scheme.
