WHY THIS ROLE?

We’re introducing an exciting role to support with the delivery of the Spectator Services operations at Tournament time, ensuring that the spectator is at the heart of every matchday experience.

SPECTATOR SERVICES OVERVIEW

Spectator Services (SPS) is one of the largest and most visible workforces, performing numerous roles across the Cricket World Cup tournament. Commonly known as the ‘face of the tournament’, SPS are generally the first welcome at the Transport Hubs and the final farewell to spectators on their journey home.

SPS aims to ensure all Spectators have a fantastic tournament experience whilst fundamentally influencing the successful event of the tournament. The primary responsibility of SPS is to ensure a positive, interactive and quality spectator experience at all Cricket World Cup tournament venues and cities by providing a warm welcome, friendly interaction and directional guidance along the walking routes, at venues and within the fanzones.

YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Ensuring everything in the public view, i.e. Front of House, is running smoothly and efficiently and any spectator issues are dealt with in an appropriate and timely manner during the tournament.
     
  • Supporting the management of Spectator Services volunteers, ensuring that volunteers are fully engaged and trained to deliver a valued spectator experience.
     
  • Briefing and deploying volunteers in the appropriate locations and prioritising the areas and positions we cover in the event of a volunteer shortfall.
     
  • Responding to changes in operation and adapting as required.
     
  • Reporting any incidents and using initiative.
     
  • Providing clear, decisive and respected direction and leadership within your areas of responsibility.

YOU'LL HAVE

  • Excellent organisation skills and a ‘can-do’, proactive attitude that will positively impact on the delivery of the tournament.
     
  • Outstanding leadership qualities and the ability to lead and motivate a large team of volunteers.
     
  • Sound operational judgement and the ability to respond to changes in operation and adapt quickly and efficiently.
     
  • Strong customer service skills with experience in a customer-orientated environment.
     
  • A passion for delivering excellent customer service, fostering a great team culture and delivering the tournament successfully

As a tournament time delivery role you will be assigned to a particular venue. You will be required to attend two role specific training days, one venue specific training day, one match preparation day and all match days on your chosen venue. Please see below all dates required for each venue, and in applying for the role on a specific venue you agree to be available on all of the required dates.

 

YOU’LL RECIEVE

The position is paid on a daily rate with all training, preparation and match days paid. No travel or accommodation is paid with the exception of the central training day at Edgbaston, Birmingham on Saturday 18th May. For this day travel will be reimbursed.
