Job Description

The Public Affairs Department provides a full range of proactive communications functions to the Club including the formulation of communication strategy, issue management, racing and non-racing media relations; racing, betting, charity information and overall publicity; as well as organisation of corporate PR programmes and projects.        

The Job

You will:

  • develop and implement media communication strategies and action plans for all matters related to racing, covering both Hong Kong and Conghua Racecourse
  • drive racing content for major racedays such as Hong Kong International Races and Champions Day, as well as generating media publicity in conventional media and social media channels
  • produce racing stories to promote Hong Kong’s world class racing as well as racing as a sport, as well as other racing related communication materials for both external and internal stakeholders
  • make a major contribution to the development of both media communications and stakeholder engagement strategies for racing in support of the Club’s business, marketing, publicity plans
  • provide excellent media management for major racing events such as Hong Kong International Races, Gala Dinner, Champions Day Gala Party etc
  • support the department head in an effective management of racing-related issues and incidents
  • Lead and drive the Racing PA team for excellent performance and development
  • work closely with other teams to support racing and other Club business initiatives

About You

You should have:

  • a bachelor degree with at least 15 years leadership experience in a public affairs and / or public relations role
  • proven leadership skills in a team environment, project management skill as well as issues management skills
  • strong knowledge in racing and public affairs
  • strong network and relations with media
  • strong stakeholders management and risk management skills
  • high level of proficiency in written and spoken English as a major, and preferably Chinese
