High Performance Sport New Zealand (HPSNZ) was established in 2011 to lead and deliver on key aspects of the High Performance (HP) Strategy in New Zealand. The HPSNZ vision is “to inspire the nation through more New Zealanders winning on the world stage at Olympic / Paralympic Games and World Championships with a focus on targeted sports”.

The HPSNZ mission is “to create a world-leading, sustainable high performance sport system”. The philosophy of HPSNZ is “Performance Driven - Athlete Focused - Coach Led”.

Reporting to the Intelligence Manager, the Athlete Monitoring Systems Lead will effectively manage the development and implementation of the Athlete Monitoring/Smartabase Project.

This project management and implementation role will also facilitate day-to-day management and administration of the database system, as well as provide user support that includes hosting education opportunities and the development of user manuals, educational materials and how-to-tutorials.

To be considered for this role you will be experienced in the management of business processes, including project and risk management, compliance and budget management.

The successful candidate will be a whiz with the operation of database software (ideally experienced with Smartabase or a similar system), and have demonstrated success in project management: planning, managing, and prioritising multiple and competing tasks and projects to meet deadlines and produce quality results. You will have meticulous attention to detail, with an analytical mind able to identify areas for automation and pro-actively improve systems.

A high standard of communication and facilitation skills is required, as is a proven understanding of the high performance sport environment so as to quickly establish rapport with key NSO and HP staff, elite athletes, coaches and support team members.

This is an exciting time to be joining HPSNZ. With a new structure and renewed focus, you will be part of a world leading organisation committed to ensuring New Zealand's athletes and teams win on the world stage. HPSNZ is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to diversity and social inclusion.
