Profile:

During the planning phase for UEFA EURO 2020 (which is set to run from August 2018 to December 2019), the Technical Cluster Manager will be responsible for turning sub-projects planned centrally by the Technical Services & Overlay (TECH) team in Nyon into tailored solutions for 4 of the 12 stadiums used in the tournament. At the end of the planning phase (i.e. at the end of 2019 or the beginning of 2020), the Technical Cluster Manager will move to one of those four stadiums, where he/she will implement those sub-projects, get the stadium ready and oversee operations during the tournament. For the other three stadiums in the cluster, UEFA will appoint Technical Stadium Managers in autumn 2019. The Technical Cluster Manager will be responsible for introducing those people to their respective stadiums and the relevant sub-projects.

Purpose:

  • Ensuring very good cooperation with stadiums' technical managers, engineers and technicians;
  • Acting as a link between UEFA's central TECH team in Nyon and the various venues;
  • Liaising with TECH suppliers as regards TV broadcasting power, venue power, temporary air conditioning, temporary water supplies, sound systems, venue TV, TV and media areas in stands, waste management, containers, pitch-view studios, camera and presentation platforms, scaffolding, health and safety management, frequency management, and the management of other changes to stadium infrastructure;
  • Ensuring the establishment of a local TECH team which acts in an open-minded, flexible and service-oriented manner in planning and implementing tournament operations;
  • Supporting other members of the TECH team in terms of organising site visits and accessing venues;
  • Conducting detailed technical surveys of venues to document existing technical infrastructure;
  • Working closely with venues to delineate responsibilities and maximise the use of existing infrastructure;
  • Liaising with other teams and suppliers to ensure consistency across venues;
  •  Establishing an appropriate operational and reporting structure and effective workflow processes for the cluster;
  • Ensuring that sub-projects are implemented in accordance with agreed milestones;
  • Ensuring that on-site work at venues is delivered in line with agreed budgets;
  • Ensuring that general administrative, reporting, knowledge management and debriefing processes are complied with and delivered to the required standard.

Requirements:

Experience required:

  • From 4 to 6 years experience of working in event production
  • From 1 to 3 years experience of working in an international environment
  • From 1 to 3 years experience of working in a leading role in technical event production

Languages:

  • English / Proficient
