Senior Account Manager (PR / Sponsorship)

About this role:
We’re looking for a Senior Account Manager with integrated marketing experience to work across one of the agency’s biggest clients, amongst others. The core scope of the role will focus on Partnership Management and PR.
Our new teammate will be an outstanding and experienced PR with a track record of delivering big, integrated PR and brand campaigns for well-known brands. They will have sponsorship management experience in the sports and/or entertainment space; will be an exceptional client handler who is adept at managing multiple types of clients; can easily work within a diverse mix of team structures; possesses a commercial mindset and is able to manage large-scale budgets; thrives in a fast-past environment and is highly organised and process-driven.
You will be surrounded by a team of Cakers who are constantly involved with some of the highest-profile sporting and entertainment events and campaigns.
Your role will sit within the Activation Team at Cake, specialising in the PR and social amplification of brand campaigns, as well as Partnership Management.
Previous experience working on leading drinks brands and also football is advantageous. Experience of working in a large network would be useful to your role, helping you to navigate the wider world of the Havas UK Group that we live in and understand client opportunities within the network.
In addition, you will also work alongside the other three pillars of Cake: Creative & Content, Talent & Partnerships, and Strategy & Insight to maximise client growth, cross-sell opportunities and drive new business where appropriate.
Your role will require strong-handling of rights holders, careful management of clients, good relationships with suppliers and the right approach with the internal team to meet objectives and expectations. You will need to manage the demands and prioritization of your tasks and client needs. You need to be conducting business in an effective manner with pro-activity, attention to detail and accuracy in all communication either internal or external.
As a Senior Account Manager you should be confident in all of the areas laid out below:
Understand and be experienced in integrated marketing – with specialisms in PR/communications and Partnerships. You need to be an established and high-performer in these fields and effectively demonstrate your capabilities, talents and experience in these areas and establish yourself as a knowledgeable and informed Communications and Marketing professional.

Adeptly show your commerciality and creativity when required across your role. You will need to be able to identify opportunities to grow your accounts creatively, as well as commercially and pull on your team, and the wider agency, to help convert those commercial and creative opportunities.
Team Management and Leadership
Use appropriate interpersonal and communication styles to motivate, inspire and guide members of your team towards goal achievement. You need to nurture the ability to change your behaviour to accommodate tasks, situations and the individuals involved. Ensure that your teammates understand the bigger picture and also the importance of their contribution to the project, in meeting their own wider objectives.

Ensure that with each project you have established a course of action for yourself and others to make sure that project goals are achieved in the most effective and financially efficient way possible.

As a Senior Account Manager at Cake, you will need to manage the financial and budgeting requirements of your clients. You will take responsibility for the financial management of resource and costs, ensuring that all of your dealings with money and fees are conducted appropriately, with due authorisation and accuracy.
Profitability with your clients is key to Cake’s financial success. We expect you to manage your budget and account faultlessly and to start building skills and knowledge in how we can develop your clients work to further meet their needs.
Some of The Key Day-To-Day Responsibilities Will Include:
- Devise and deliver large PR campaigns and integrated marketing activations across a diverse client mix;
- Deliver effective Partnership Management for your client’s portfolio of high-profile sponsorship properties
- Perform with seniority, engaging clients at a considered and informed level;
- Manage and nurture all client relationships within your remit;
- Identify opportunities to creatively and commercially grown your brands and clients
- Give knowledgeable and broad ranging advice on issues relating to PR, partnerships and communications;
- Pitch proactive ideas and share industry trends that are pertinent to your brands and clients;
- Manage junior members on each of your client teams to deliver the most effective client solutions;
- Ensure your team is happy, challenged and delivering against clear targets; whilst developing and motivating the individuals within the team;
- Write proposals, evaluations, reports and presentations both for internal and external use with clarity, structure and creativity;
- Present effectively in a variety of situations, including new business pitches;
- Confidently deal with crisis situations;
- Ensure that all client processes (status meetings, contact reports etc) are adhered to in a timely and professional manner
- Adhere to HR practices;
- Unsociable hours, and weekend work are part of the role.
