Contribute to the delivery of an amazing international project that meets best practice in promoting migrant workers’ welfare locally, regionally and internationally by managing the communications strategy and activities that is in line with organisations strategic objective.

Key responsibilities:

  • Drive the development of the communications strategies for Migrant Workers’ Welfare (MWW) programme that reach a range of audiences from the informed footballing public, to NGOs, to Governments and families of the workers
  • Planning and executing programme specific campaigns
  • Review any content (written and others) development and management related to MWW
  • Provide input into the MWW’s website management project
  • Engage and build strong working relationship with all stakeholders to ensure seamless and positive communication between the MWW and different entities, such as organisation in partnership with MWW, project managers in Technical Department
  • Advise and support any potentially negative media issues around the MWW programme, events and activities
  • In case of a crisis situation, coordinate with other relevant internal and external stakeholders and support cross-functional crisis management teams to rebuild trust and confidence through key and timely messages
  • Represent the MWW in local, regional and international events as directed by Snr Management
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor directly related or relevant to the job

Qualifications, experience and skills:

Education and certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications or relevant discipline

Experience and skills:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in global strategic communications;
  • Experience of planning and executing long range communications strategies aligned to organisational strategies (i.e. over a period of 18 months+ with demonstrable, tangible outcomes);
  • Demonstrable experience of global media relations;
  • Experience in crisis / issues management is essential;
  • Ability to demonstrate a creative approach to communications channels and audiences;
  • Awareness of developing trends in traditional print/broadcast and digital campaigning in the MENA region and globally is essential;
  • Experience of or a demonstrable interest in working in human rights is beneficial;
  • Capacity to provide effective communications counsel to senior staff (c-suite level) is essential;
  • Demonstrable experience of NGO engagement and/or Public Affairs is a distinct advantage;
  • Demonstrable experience of developing and delivering high profile proactive global communications campaigns;
  • Team management skills, ideally within culturally diverse teams, are advantageous;
  • Demonstrable experience of written content development is essential;
  • Fluency in English (written/verbal) is essential; working knowledge of Arabic would be beneficial.
