The Senior Consultant will be responsible for growing our Consulting practice in the UK & Ireland in close collaboration with the UKI Head of Consulting, UKI Consulting Director and Nielsen commercial teams. This position requires a self-starting attitude, a real focus on collaboration and a true passion for doing top class management consulting work. This role is for an outstanding consulting practitioner who should have proven successful experience and interest in the business of sports and entertainment.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Lead consulting project:

  • Lead key consulting engagements and manage the right resources to ensure first class project delivery including seeking cross-department help when and where required
  • Own consulting engagement end-to-end, from pre-sales support through delivery to after-sale/ upsell activities
  • Support the head of consulting developing the plan for the market across key sport & entertainment sector stakeholders - rights holders, brands, agencies & public organisations who have the propensity to spend on consulting initiatives
  • Collaborate with the broader Nielsen business to uncover and win consulting opportunities that deliver real added value to Nielsen clients

Be an Industry Thought Leader:

  • Support the development of local market thought leadership on topics of relevance to the market and the sporting and entertainment landscape
  • Work with marketing to productize and develop credentials/ case studies around expertise

Be a Coach:

  • Model the Nielsen Values at all times – Open, Connected, Useful and Personal
  • Provide coaching and support to the broader business in your market to continue our transition to more of a Consulting-led business and Trusted Advisor
  • Help to coach our clients by driving value-based delivery

Required Skills/Background:

  • Proven successful strategy consulting experience in a top tier/tier two firm or industry role, preferably with specialised sports & entertainment agencies
  • Proven experience in delivering sports, entertainment or media work and related client management
  • Proven people management skills and highly developed communication skills
  • Deep understanding of problem solving skills and latest management consulting frameworks
  • Track record of delivering complex multi-work stream projects including financial analytics deliverables and business case development
  • Preferably an MBA or similar from a top tier business school
  • Knowledge of and passion for the sports and entertainment industry
  • A Strong Critical thinker
  • Ability to articulate information in a simple, impactful way
  • Excels at building relationships, internally and with clients
