The Social Media Content Manager is responsible for planning, managing and delivering world-class social media content across some of the most successful accounts in sport in line with UEFA's digital strategy to engage fans everywhere.


  • Managing social media content delivery across multiple competitions, languages and platforms according to an agreed strategy;
  • Managing a dedicated (English and multilingual) social media editorial team which means:
  1. Delivering a cross-platform content plan with a coherent approach to each;
  2. Idea generation and creativity across various content types;
  3. Delivering content via the agreed posting, tagging, promotion, geotargeting and reporting procedures - either directly on the platform or via third-party tools;
  4. Making the best use of exclusive UEFA access, assets and content;
  5. Providing regular feedback to the team and adjusting plans and content mixes based on performance/algorithm changes/new ideas etc.
  • Ensuring proper performance tracking, KPIs, data analyses and other agreed data metrics are implemented and shared with key stakeholders for all campaigns and competitions;
  • Optimising engagement around major UEFA events such as the UEFA Champions League final and UEFA EURO 2020 including planning and executing on-site activations;
  • Engaging with the marketing division (including their agencies) and the digital development team by providing social media content-related input into the planning and delivery of club and national-team football on UEFA's native and social media digital platforms, including apps and syndication services;
  • Supporting all marketing initiatives including sponsor content deliveries (including attending and presenting at digital working groups), CRM and promotional campaigns with any costs related to such requirements scoped out and agreed in advance;
  • Fostering productive working relationships and understanding development opportunities on various social media platforms where UEFA has a presence, and emerging ones where UEFA could have;
  • Working on a referral strategy and creating a long-term content planner.


Experience required:

  • More than 5 years' experience of commissioning, editing and posting content based on a data-driven social media strategy
  • From 4-6 years' experience of managing accounts with large and passionate fan bases for a leading organisation, preferably in sport
  • More than 3 years' experience of working or cooperating with clients, sponsors or partners and using social media analytics tools


  • Bachelor degree in relevant field
  • Additional further training in media, communications or marketing would be an advantage

  • Excellent administrative, organisational and presentation skills, with an ability to prioritise, manage and meet deadlines
  • Open-minded, flexible and able to deal with people effectively at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Solid understanding of European football and the positioning of UEFA competitions
