Job Description

Position Description: 

The Manager of Global Media Distribution (GMD) will work very closely with Senior Director of GMD to account-manage and service broadcast partners in Northern Europe, Central and Eastern Europe. He/she will be in charge of day-to-day execution of contractual deliverables, provide creative marketing and promotional support to clients. He/she will also work with other departments (Marketing Partnership, Merchandising Group, etc.) to identify business opportunities with the objective of growing NBA fan base across EMEA.

Major Responsibilities: 

Account Management / Client Servicing:

  • Execution of all deliverables in licensing agreements and ensure broadcast partners are adhering to contractual obligations
  • Day-to-day management of assigned sales accounts
  • Offer bespoke and creative marketing / promotional solutions using available contents, assets and platforms
  • Provide creative marketing / promotional suggestions to broadcast partners and execution of such plans at events particularly ones taking place in EMEA (e.g. NBA 3X, Global Games, NBA House, talent appearance, trophy tour, etc.)
  • Work with legal team in New York to review and approve marketing materials created by partners to ensure all materials are in-line with NBA standards and guidelines
  • Work with other departments to identify opportunities to grow NBA fan base by leveraging broadcast partners' platforms and vice versa (e.g. social media, etc.)
  • Work with Programming / Content teams in New Jersey to deliver promotional contents to partners (e.g. promos, tune-in tags, etc.)
  • Work with Programming / Content teams to develop and create localized content with our broadcast partners
  • Maintain an updated broadcast schedule of NBA games and programming of partner accounts
  • Other general account management / client servicing tasks when they arise


  • Deal memo / amendment drafting
  • Perform due diligence and deal valuation when necessary
  • Identify up-selling opportunities with existing clients
  • Assist in renewal / sales discussions
  • Assist the sales team on business development work


  • Manage partners' ticket and credential requests when necessary
  • Assist with hospitality arrangements for partners at games held in EMEA
  • Provide support to partners on-site when required (e.g. All Star, Finals, etc.)
  • Conduct research on best practices by other rights holders on marketing / promotional / brand-building activities
  • Provide support to partners using NBA Content Network (instant video downloading tool) and assist with troubleshooting when necessary

Required Experience & Knowledge: 

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good knowledge of the broadcast media landscape
  • Acute attention to details
  • Autonomous but also capable of working in a team environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills; solution-oriented
  • Creative and proven ability to execute ideas
  • Extremely capable of multi-tasking; efficient and able to handle and prioritize a high volume of work during peak periods
  • Proficient computer skills including MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Photoshop
  • Central / Eastern European languages a bonus but not necessary
  • A current network / rapport with European broadcasters is an advantage
  • Some travelling required
  • 5-7 years' experience in a client servicing or account management role, with a minimum of 3-5 years' experience in the broadcast sector of the sport industry

Educational Background Required: 

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
