Previous Experience:

Opportunity for somebody with no less than 3 years’ experience in a business development, key account management or sales background with a proven track record in generating revenue growth and high levels of client satisfaction.

A commercial background from the Conference and Events industry, Membership organisations, general consultancy and business of sport will have significant advantage.

Main Purpose of the Role:

To support the CEO MEI in driving more value to existing clients, growing a larger client base, submitting proposals and following up on all opportunities. This involves staying in regular contact with clients, identifying their needs and arranging routine catch-ups with them. The role also involves working closely with other members of the team to ensure a coherent approach to meeting event and wider sales targets and forward planning and consistency for communication and marketing activity. Specifically, the role involves:

  • Management of the key prospects and ensure meetings and follow-up are delivered
  • Proposal writing to service new requests for support
  • Phone and e mail communication with key contacts
  • New business generation with little supervision
  • Contribute to ensuring all routine MEI events are well attended and executed efficiently with minimum disruption to the business
  • Building and sustaining a pipeline of strong commercial partnerships

Directly to CEO MEI

Place of Employment:

  • Central London
  • Occasional visits to client offices and external events

Ways of Working:

  • This is a standard office hours’ role, less attendance at events, meeting deadlines which will require occasional extended hours
  •  Some international travel will be necessary for maximum 10 days

Remuneration and employment terms:

  • Base Salary plus opportunities for commission beyond cost recovery
  • Pre agreed expenses to be confirmed in writing and paid monthly
  • Pro-rated holiday entitlement
