The core role of the Marketing Division is to optimise revenues for the short and long-term benefit of European football. This is achieved through the creation of value in every activity undertaken. The marketing, promotion and brand management of UEFA's competitions play an instrumental role in this value creation.

Reporting to the Head of Marketing Activities & Sponsorship within the Marketing Division, the Senior Marketing Activities Manager leads a team to develop long-term strategic marketing plans for all UEFA competitions, ensure the development and roll-out of high-quality UEFA brands (corporate and competitions), and create and execute promotional plans for key UEFA competitions. The role also includes responsibility for leading the strategic marketing plan for women's football as well as the launch and integration of UEFA's football relationship management (CRM) team to increase engagement with key stakeholders, with data management becoming a key cornerstone of the safeguarding and future development of UEFA's revenues.


- Leading the development of strategic marketing plans and strategies for all UEFA competitions in close collaboration with the Marketing Activities & Sponsorship Unit and the Marketing Division's management team;
- Leading UEFA's brand management to ensure the development and roll-out of high-quality brands that are in line with the organisation's overall brand strategy;
- Overseeing and driving the development and implementation of promotional strategies and plans for key competitions, based on objectives set out in the above-mentioned marketing plans. This includes defining core markets and target audiences as well as developing localised plans, e.g. an Asia expansion plan for the UEFA Champions League;
- Leading the strategic marketing plan for women's football with a view to growing the game so that it becomes the most popular women's sport in Europe;
- Leading the development and implementation of the football relationship management (CRM) strategy across UEFA divisions with the ultimate goal of using in-depth insights into the current fan base to develop value-driven promotional plans and explore new revenue opportunities together with UEFA's various partners;
- Ensuring that all of the above activities are based on strong insights and strategic analysis, and that they are properly measured using clear and quantifiable KPIs;
- Providing strong advocacy for all activities both internally (developing strong relationships with all divisions) and externally (e.g. with commercial partners, broadcasters, clubs and national associations);
- Managing the marketing activities team effectively;
- Providing strong, convincing, contextualised and well-thought-out strategic direction and reporting for senior management decisions;
- Managing and optimising marketing budgets and the output of external agencies.


Experience required:
- more than 7 years proven track record of developing and implementing marketing plans and strategies as well as promotional activities
- more than 7 years experience in brand management, budget management, people management and agency management
- a marketing experience in fast-moving consumer goods would be a significant asset

Additional requirements:
- Experience in giving presentations to clients and senior management
- Well-developed strategic analytical skills
- Excellent spoken and written communication skills, including the ability to develop a vision, push through strategic plans and influence decision-makers using expert knowledge and credible arguments
- Good knowledge of CRM and using fan data to drive engagement and partner activation
- Ability to understand complex data and formulate concise insights and plans
- Good knowledge of the sports industry
- Advanced knowledge of using digital/social media platforms across promotional activities
- Highly skilled in understanding fan behaviour
- Attention to detail coupled with the ability to see the bigger picture
- A strong sense of team spirit and the ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve objectives in a timely, accurate and thorough manner
- An approachable, committed and friendly nature and the willingness to work in a collaborative way
- A creative, proactive, pragmatic and solution-oriented approach
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish relationships at all levels both internally and externally and create consensus across various groups
- An interest in football and sports in general would be an asset
