High Performance Sport New Zealand (HPSNZ) was established in 2011 to lead and deliver on key aspects of the High Performance (HP) Strategy in New Zealand. The HPSNZ vision is ‘Inspiring the nation through more New Zealanders winning on the world stage’ .

Reporting to the Campaign Consultant Manager, the primary purpose of the Campaign Consultant is to positively impact performance through leading the development and support of campaign planning and preparation expertise to carded campaigns (coaches & athletes) so that athletes are prepared to perform at pinnacle events.

  • Campaigns understand what it takes to win in their given sport;
  • Provide the support for campaigns to achieve their performance goals;
  • Sharing what has been learnt in campaigns to continue to inform the system’s performance.

To be considered for this role you will have been directly involved in a High Performance sport programme and/or campaign that resulted in medals at Olympic/Paralympic and/or World Championship level. These experiences may have been gained as an athlete, Coach, HP Manager or similar. A clear understanding of what it takes to win in a highly competitive environment is required to enable the identification of what components are needed and how they can best be combined to ensure successful campaigns.

Effective and empathetic relationship management is key to success in this role. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in influencing and creating successful change by leading without authority; knowing when to lead and when to follow and is able to develop the Campaign teams’ expertise in the process.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a world leading organisation focussed on ensuring New Zealand's athletes and teams win on the world stage.
