The Football Association (The FA) is the governing body of football in England and has the responsibility to promote and develop the game at all levels from grass roots through to the professional game, The FA Cup and the England International team.

Creating winning England Teams requires a coaching workforce with access to a world class education system. The education and development of coaches plays a pivotal role in ensuring The FA is successful in its implementation of the England DNA coaching philosophy.

The County Coach Developers area a team of coach educators working at grassroots level in line with The FA Education plan, who provide world leading coaching qualifications and CPD for the grassroots coaching workforce including but not exclusive to Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3.

ROLE SPECIFICS

As a County Coach Developer you will be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of The FA Coaching Strategy across the National Game, by supporting the development of creative coaches who are excellent teachers of the game. You will be expected to support the delivery of coach education in the county tutor for a minimum of 140 days a year. 

This position will be based in Berkshire & Buckinghamshire County FA.

Your role will include;

  • Develop, mentor and support a team of FA Tutors
  • Support an allocated CFA’s to devise and deliver a Coach Education and Coach Development programme to support coaches and teachers in the National Game
  • Develop appropriate coaching resources
  • Ensure that coaches and players are introduced to the skill development value of Futsal
  • Ensure that coaches are introduced to the England DNA and promote FA coaching, teaching and learning philosophies
  • Develop and deliver in service programme for CFA LCC and Charter Standard Clubs
  • Support as required to regional/national Coach Development programme
  • Support the FA mentoring programme

CANDIDATE SPECIFICS

You must possess the following;

  • UEFA B Coaching Licence, FA Coach Educator at Level 1 and Level 2
  • Understanding of FA LTPD-4 corner model
  • Complete understanding of FA DNA, coaching and learning philosophies
  • Sensitive to development needs of adult learners
  • Experience of Grassroots Football
  • Experience in Player Development
  • Experience in Coach Education and Coach Development
  • Team/Player Coaching experience
  • Experience of developing young Player/Coach –related programme
  • Modern, progressive approach to coaching and learning
  • Ability to develop, prioritise, evaluate work programme to best meet the FA group objectives
  • Modern, progressive approach to coaching and learning

In addition the following would also be desirable;

  • Qualifications and/or experience in a child related profession.
  • Experience of working with and maintaining effective working relationships with County FAs, Coaches, Schools, Clubs and key stakeholders
  • Experience of mentoring coaches
  • FA Youth Award holder
  • Ability to work with coaches in line with UEFA/FA syllabi
