The Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens is one of the largest rugby tournaments globally. The Sevens Stadium hosts the three day event, which is the first leg of the World Rugby Sevens Series and the World Rugby Womens Sevens Series tournaments and includes an Invitation rugby and netball tournament simultaneously at the venue. Approximately 100,000 people attend the event over the three days and it is a highly prestigious and ever evolving tournament, with a long established history both locally, regionally and internationally.

The following role is key to the smooth operational flow of the World Rugby Series Tournaments teams’ logistics and all aspects of associated support.

 

The Role

This role is critical to the tournament and requires a highly organized, level-headed and calm individual who is used to managing complex information and making difficult decisions quickly. The Logistics Manager arranges, manages and co-ordinates all flights, accommodation, ground transport, visas and other travelling requirements associated with the World Series tournaments. The role is also responsible for logistics associated with World Rugby management staff, tournament match officials, event staff and other tournament related personnel.

The role, although predominantly concerned with the World Rugby Series tournaments will also provide support to the Invitation Tournament.  Working closely with tournament stakeholders is vital and the successful candidate will be one who is able to work independently when required. The post holder will also provide support to The Sevens Stadium management team and as required will work with the Events, Leisure and Facilities team delivering services and managing stadium bookings/events.

This full time position, which is based in Dubai, UAE would be suited to an individual who is used to working in a highly pressurised environment where information changes frequently and consequent action is required to accommodate change. A clear thinking logical person who pays attention to detail is essential and the post holder should be prepared to work long hours and be accommodating when approaching duties. Working to deadlines is vital as is having a flexible approach to the role’s responsibilities and working hours. The successful candidate will be one who works well under pressure.

Normal hours of work:   5 days/42 hours per week, with flexibility to work within a 7 day roster when needed.   This will increase in the build up to and during the tournament weekend.
