UK Anti-Doping (UKAD) is the national organisation dedicated to protecting a culture of clean sport. Every day, we work hard to inform and educate those involved in sport as one of UKAD’s core functions. The Education and Athlete Support team manage and deliver an extensive education programme where our priority is to ‘keep clean athletes clean’ by reducing the incidence of inadvertent doping.
Our Education Delivery Network (EDN) is a three-tier system, and incorporates National Trainers, Clean Sport Educators and Advisors. Our aim is to promote the values of clean sport and provide core anti-doping information. The EDN is passionate about ensuring these values are embedded across the sporting landscape. National Trainers are key to meeting this aim by assisting us with the delivery of clean sport education sessions to athletes and athlete support personnel.
National Trainers are required to work as an independent worker on behalf of UKAD. National Trainers form an arm of the EDN and are part of a three-tier system, including Clean Sport Educators and Advisors. As a National Trainer you will be responsible for but not limited to; education delivery to athletes and Athlete Support Personnel and delivery of outreach programmes and webinars. As a National Trainer, the education delivery will largely be part of our Major Games programmes as well as delivering on behalf of National Governing Bodies of Sport or other Partners who request our education services. You will be required to prepare education sessions with UKAD support, work with other National Trainers to co-deliver and ensure that all related paperwork (e.g. registers) are completed and sent back to UKAD in a timely manner.
In addition and dependent on experience, additional duties may be offered to support the delivery of our Prevention Strategy and associated programmes, such as providing compliance support to National Governing Body, delivery of Educator training and conducting in-field observations of educators and support to universities as part of our University Accreditation Scheme.
