Partner/Consultant, Sports Executive Search
|Sector||Agencies & Sponsors|
|Function||Business Development & Sales, Marketing & Communications|
Odgers Berndtson is Europe’s largest Global Executive Search firm, ranked number one in the UK, number two in Europe and number six worldwide. Our reputation for excellence and integrity has been established over 50 years and we are a company driven by our clients, not outside shareholders. The Odgers Berndtson is unique in that it is the only search firm to have a fully dedicated, truly global Sports Practice.
Odgers Berndtson is seeking to appoint a senior fee-earner (Principal or Partner) to our Global Sports Practice. Reporting to the Global Head of Sports, he or she will be responsible for delivering high-level, national and international search assignments, and therefore play a key role in the continued growth of an already successful Sports Practice.
The role allows for a degree of entrepreneurship and the ability to use Odgers Berndtson’s global network of clients and contacts to leverage new business wherever possible. The ability to consult with high profile sporting organisations and provide leadership and talent solutions at the highest levels is key.
You will be established in the sports world, either through an earlier career in competitive sports, or presently employed in the sports industry; potentially in sports marketing or consulting. Ideally you will have developed strong relationships and an established client base from your current profession, but most importantly you will have sufficient personal credibility and gravitas to engage proactively with senior executives within the sports industry.
Previous experience in executive search is not necessary; however commercial acumen and sales experience would be advantageous.
In terms of character, you will be a self-starter, ambitious and have naturally confidence; with a desire to succeed that does not compromise a commitment to quality and professionalism. Additionally a strong collegiate and collaborative nature is essential to your success within the larger organisation.
This is a role for someone who is passionate about being the best: you may not have considered a role in executive search before, but you will be joining one of the very best executive search sports businesses in the world.
It is likely you will be a graduate and be both highly articulate and have first-rate written communication skills.
Please attach your CV with a short covering letter.
