  • To enable HR personnel to continue to concentrate on developing/enhancing HR strategies within JLR China, following the separation of services from Ford over the course of a six month period
  • To streamline and eliminate HR/Facilities administration as much as possible
  • To further develop the knowledge and skills of the team members within the HR function
  • To support the transition from ISE to local HR staff
  • To recruit a talented candidate with the potential to develop within the organisation in the future

Roles and Responsibilities


Develop awareness of and support HR professionals in the recruitment of local personnel. Including:

  • website update of available positions
  • management of recruitment correspondence and internal referrals
  • initial screening of applications and telephone interviews
  • arrangements for all stages of recruitment process
  • liaison with recruitment consultants for reference checking


Develop awareness of and support HR professionals in the induction of local personnel. Including:

  • Logistical arrangements for new starters including room bookings

Employee/Facilities Management

  • Filing of recruitment and other HR related data
  • Maintenance of local policies and procedures
  • Maintenance of HR Metrics
  • Office and driver related administration

Training & Development

  • Participate in local training & development activities
  • IDP system maintenance and data update
  • Development of training policies/procedures
  • Logistical arrangements for training and development activities
  • Logistics for Employee Town Hall
  • Support EDC activities
  • Analysis of Employee Survey data

HR Intranet 

  • Support the development of the HR intranet

International Service Administration

Develop awareness of and support HR professionals in the management and administration for international assignees. Including:

  • Policy understanding
  • Liaison with suppliers
  • Payment administration

Business Acumen

Gain understanding and appreciation of working for a multi international company and it's various operational parts.

Performance Assessment

  • Intern will work to an action task list developed by HR Manager
  • Log book completed by the intern tracking completion of tasks, developmental activities and learnings
  • Delivery of tasks by the intern, assessed weekly through 1:1 with Supervisor
  • Feedback from intern through attendance at training and development activities
  • Presentation delivered by Intern to the People Committee
  • Feedback from colleagues and peers.
