Senior Account Director (Maternity Cover) at FUSE, OMD UK
Reporting to: Head of Fuse UK and Head of Brand Experience (project dependant)
Start date: Early December 2016
Term: 12 month contract


  •  At least 6 years’ experience in events and marketing, working with high profile brands
  •  Experience in developing live brand experience creative concepts and selling proposals to stakeholders
  • Experience managing and delivering live brand solutions - experiential activity, brand experiences, sponsorship activation and large bespoke events (up to 1000 pax)
  • Experience in hospitality and guest programme management to include guest communications planning and ticketing management
  • Strong understanding of the marketing & media landscape, including how partnerships and brand experiences work within the broader marketing mix
  • Experience in managing senior clients
  • Experience in using an online events / guest management database system would be preferable


  • Excellent project management skills and ability to multi-task
  • Great leadership skills and experience in managing a team
  • Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to create presentations with a strong narrative routed in clear brand strategy
  • Highly articulate, with the ability to communicate Fuse recommendations and ideas to senior level clients
  • Excellent financial acumen with experience in preparing, managing and reconciling budgets of up to £1m
  • Ideal candidate needs to have excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, be motivated, presentable, confident, a creative-thinker and highly organised

1. Team management

  • Support the Head of Fuse UK in the day to day management of the business (budgets, reporting, resource planning, training)
  • Responsible for mentoring Account Director, Senior Account Manager, Account Managers, Senior Account Executives and Account Executives including on-the-job advice, appraisals and development plans
  • Manage team to maximise efficiency and effectiveness whilst ensuring a high level of delivery

2. Client servicing and new business

  • Delivery of existing client accounts and projects, including but not exclusive to Vodafone, Royal London, The British & Irish Lions, British Olympic Association. 
  • Lead client relationships with senior and mid-level clients with a view to growing incremental revenue
  • Supporting on new business pitches and lead on responses to ad-hoc project based-briefs, coherently articulating responses to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Landscape analysis - auditing client’s existing event and hospitality programmes, marketplace and competitive analysis, research and audience insight
  • Implement and ensure robust project management processes are followed on all projects

3. Project / Account management

  • Complete project management, including client liaison, managing status meetings and reporting, project troubleshooting
  • Stakeholder liaison (rights holders, supplier partners and other client agencies)
  • Implementation of brand solutions, including sourcing production partners and suppliers
  • Writing proposals, research and developing budget estimates
  • End to end planning and delivery of events and brand experience solutions – to include
  • Budgets; management and reconciliation
  • Venues; research, selection, management, catering, set-up, guest flow
  • Event production; content development, supplier management, overseeing installations and set builds
  • Managing consumer journey and guest experience
  • Talent management
  • Guest Comms; processes (on-line and offline), on-line portal development, reporting, bespoke communications
  • Development of creative/collateral
  • Ticketing; management of allocations; logging; collateral packaging
  • Transport logistics; supplier selection; driver briefings; scheduling
  • Health & Safety management and implementation
  • Onsite event team management (teams of up to 30 staff)
  •  Onsite event management including overseeing all Fuse suppliers, client and rights holder relations and troubleshooting
