The International Cricket Council (“ICC”) is the global governing body for the sport, which administers all aspects of international cricket. The role will be based at our headquarters in Dubai.

We are currently looking for a Senior Event Operations Manager to join the Events team who will be responsible for operational delivery of the ICC events through planning, procurement and implementation phase.

Principal Accountabilities

Responsibilities of the Senior Event Operations Manager will include but are not limited to the following:

  • Oversee the operational planning and implementation for all ICC events;
  • Drafting of event budgets in conjunction with Host Liaison/Event Operations Manager and other ICC departments as required;
  • Oversight of the process of selection of ICC event suppliers;
  • Drafting of ICC staffing schedule for each event according to budgeted plans and requirements including management of all staff logistics;
  • Management of briefings for staff on event logistics and arrangements;
  • Manage the product requirement and order process and ensure an appropriate delivery recording mechanism is agreed and implemented;
  • In conjunction with the Finance department, finalise Member recharge accounts and VIK statements;
  • Oversee production of ICC staff event handbook;
  • Oversee the creation of event contingency plans and relocation strategies as necessary;
  • Collating/drafting of the operational sections of the post event reports;
  • Contribution to the drafting of annual event department objectives and operational plan;
  • Manage the Members Participation Agreement submissions for events as required, where necessary;
  • Approval of final overall schedule of activity at a venue including content of replay screen, PA announcer guidelines and event delivery SOPs;
  • Oversee the process of reconciliation of event accounts and recharges;
  • In conjunction with the Finance department and the hosts, finalise event accounts to a position where they are ready for audit;
  • Organisation (and documentation) of an internal departmental meeting to carry out a detailed review post event;
  • Contribution to the drafting of annual event department objectives and operational plan;
  • Development of the content of ICC event resource materials;
  • Build sports management knowledge, external relationships and internal networks to ensure optimum service delivery;
  • Production of event department staffing plans for ICC events and management of process to fill identified roles;
  • Recruitment and management of temporary event staff as required;

Knowledge, Skills, Attitude and Experience

  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in events delivery and preferably within the sport of cricket;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including proven writing ability;
  • Knowledge/understanding of cricket and passion for the sport;
  • Computer literate with good administrative, project management and organisational skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, prioritise and deliver projects on time;
  • Experience of working with people from different cultures;
  • Motivated, enthusiastic attitude and able to work creatively on own initiative;
  • Good team player with flexible approach;
  • Willingness and ability to travel for longer durations is desirable.

Conditions of employment

  • The position is based in Dubai and will report to the Head of Events
