Job Description

Based at Twickenham Stadium, the RFU has an outstanding opportunity for an experienced and credible Venue Director who will be responsible for leading the Venue teams in the management and safety of our iconic Twickenham Stadium, property and venue portfolio, pitches and events to a world class standard of operation.

The Venue Director will play a pivotal role in ensuring our customer and fan experience is at the highest possible level and, more importantly exceeds the expectations of every person attending our renowned sporting location. Ultimately this role will play a significant part in continually engaging new and existing audiences in our sport. The role will work in partnership with our Commercial and Marketing teams to maximise our spectator experiences and seek out exciting and strategic venue opportunities, ensuring we are always at the forefront of the industry.

The successful candidate will have credible experience in a similar role leading and managing a multi-functional stadium (NVQ Level 4 Spectator Safety Management required) within a customer focused environment and proven leadership experience at senior manager level including setting of and delivering against strategic and annual business plans. Extensive experience of project management and the delivery of major events alongside proven success at building and maintaining excellent working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders is required.

The role requires a safety first focussed but ambitious, innovative, strong, collaborative and visionary leader with a desire to get the best out of people and teams. The candidate will be a strategic thinker and planner who is aware of current best practice, state of the art stadia and customer experience, and is capable of generating new ideas and leading on large business deals.  Strong financial, budget management, planning and control skills are also critical for this role.
