Badminton Europe Confederation (BEC) was founded on 24th September 1967 and is affiliated to the Badminton World Federation (BWF) as its Continental Confederation (CC) for European Member Associations.

The objectives of BEC are overarched by the objectives of the BWF which can be found in the
statement “Purposes and Objectives” of the Federation as set out in the revised Constitution of the
BWF.
The vision of BEC is “to promote and develop the game of badminton in Europe”

OBJECTIVES
The vision of BEC can be achieved by following these objectives:

•Striving to ensure that badminton is played in every European Nation, each having a National Association which is a member of BEC through membership of the BWF

•Safeguarding the integrity of the game by establishing and upholding Rules and Regulations in an open a transparent manner

•Supporting Member Associations to be organised through principles of good governance

•Providing support to Member Association in their efforts to develop and run their National Organisations

•Promoting badminton as a healthy sport for all that can be played competitively and socially despite age, gender or social status

•Arranging European Championships which are organised and presented to the highest standards with participation of the best European players

•Developing the BEC Circuit through improving the quality of the tournaments thus ensuring that the Circuit is recognised as a high profile series of tournaments

•Educating European Technical Officials to the very highest standard

•Creating awareness and publicity for badminton and BEC through consistent and innovative communication tools

•Building and promoting intellectual property portfolios to potential partners and sponsors

BEC must continue to endeavour to position itself in World Badminton in such a manner as to be able to influence the BWF and play an appropriate role in the future development of badminton worldwide and to assist the BWF, where possible, in ensuring the continued promotion of badminton’s Olympic status.
