The long wait is over and the eyes of the world are on French capital Paris tonight as the curtain rises on UEFA EURO 2016, with 24 teams set to compete across 10 venues over the coming month for the ultimate prize in European football.

GlobalSportsJobs is digging deeper into the tournament, offering you a never-before-seen angle on one of the largest sporting events in the world. The recently launched UEFA People digital campaign comes alive to give professionals eyeing a career in the sports industry even more unique insights into what it takes to successfully stage a major event.

How to see behind the scenes

During this phase of the campaign, visitors to UEFA People, available in EnglishFrench and German, will gain a deeper insight into the multiple roles played by UEFA staff, hear stories from behind the scenes as the tournament unfolds, learn the answers to a variety of unique & never-before-answered questions and gain an understanding of the importance of transferable skills across different industries and sectors.

"We are truly excited about this main phase of the UEFA People campaign as it provides us with an opportunity to have fun whilst taking a first-time look behind the scenes at the staff who spend their days planning, preparing and executing one of the largest sporting events in the world," said Will Lloyd, CEO of GlobalSportsJobs.

"We firmly believe that the passion, purpose and pride displayed by the team at UEFA throughout this project will inspire professionals to take a step into the world of major sporting events, whether that’s as a volunteer, a Junior TV Producer, or as Head of Communications. There are so many opportunities across such a large range of functions so there really is something for everyone."

How to actually get behind the scenes in person

UEFA People also features competitions to win EURO 2016 merchandise and the chance to win an exclusive, once-in-a-lifetime, behind-the-scenes career experience in France including accommodation, travel and match tickets to Germany v Northern Ireland at the Parc des Princes in Paris on 21 June.
