“One of the most rewarding parts of my job is working with and supporting the volunteers in our clubs to try and achieve positive outcomes for the children that we are dealing with”.
Safeguarding is a term that relates to the action taken to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm. The proactive measures that the RFU put in place include supporting clubs that make sure that those wishing to work with children are suitable for the role and providing Safeguarding training. Whilst the RFU does its utmost to be proactive and to put in place measures, occasionally things do go wrong and when this happens we have a more focused ‘child protection’ role. When incidents or concerns are reported they are reported into me.
One of the most rewarding parts of my job is working with and supporting the volunteers in our clubs to try and achieve positive outcomes for the children that we are dealing with. I find my job to be equally challenging and rewarding and I know that it would be a lot more difficult without the support of my colleagues from across the organisation.
