“If you embrace the Core Values (Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline, Sportsmanship), enjoy variety and challenge and don’t take yourself too seriously then this is a great place to work.”
I am currently Head of Game Development for the RFU and work extensively with colleagues from the Rugby Development Department. On the face of it Game Development’s remit is simple – we put in place systems, products and services that support the recruitment, training and development of Coaches, Match Officials and Medics for the community game. In reality it’s a little more complicated than that!
In my 14 years with the RFU I have seen many changes – Stadium Developments, Men’s, Women’s and U20 World Cup Winners, the growth in 7s and touch rugby – and had the good fortune to work alongside hundreds of fantastic people.
Working at the RFU is never boring. Every day is different and with so many people playing or enjoying the game as a coach, referee, volunteer or spectator you will never be short of questions or problems to solve. If you embrace the Core Values (Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline, Sportsmanship), enjoy variety and challenge and don’t take yourself too seriously then this is a great place to work.
