The NBA is committed to growing the sport in the region, and stages friendly games, regular-season games and grassroots events in partnership with FIBA, local federations and the Euroleague. The NBA currently has a strong network of television and digital media partners in Europe, with in NBA games and programming broadcast in 48 European countries and territories in 34 languages, available in over 82 million households. The NBA counts 19 marketing and promotional partners in the region, including local, pan-regional and global partners who help support the overall growth of the NBA in Europe.

The NBA is an industry leader in fan engagement through digital and social media, including seven local language websites, seven Facebook pages, and four Twitter handles in Europe. It is the No. 1 professional sports league on social media globally, with more than 2.3 million fans across its local European Facebook pages and over 4.2 million fans from Europe on the global Facebook page.. The NBA has staged 66 games in Europe since 1988, including five regular-season games in London. The league counts more than 50 active licensees in the region, with licensed merchandise available via NBAStore.eu and key retail partners. The NBA’s reach in the region is further reflected in the 57 European players from 21 countries on opening day rosters for the 2014-15 season, accounting for 60% of the NBA’s international players.
