Sports Development Manager
This role is a multi-faceted administration role within the ICF headquarters. The person will be responsible for several major programmes related to the development of athletes, coaches and national federations within the sport of canoe. The person will work closely with the Technical sports managers, Event Manager and the Secretary-General to implement key strategic development objectives for the sport.
The main areas of responsibility will be:
Development Activities
- Liaise and coordinate operations with the ICF Development Programme Commission,
- Chairs of disciplines and Continental Associations;
- Liaise with organising committees for projects;
- Identify development needs for Canoeing;
- Manage development projects that are set against the Strategic goals of the ICF;
- Plan, manage and coordinate effective comprehensive Development Programmes;
- Submit and plan Olympic Solidarity courses and funding;
- Manage and oversee the individual development programme activities;
- Liaise closely with National Federations, coaches, athletes and other stakeholders;
- Manage logistics for development programme activities;
- Monitor and report on each development activity;
- Ensure ICF safeguarding requirements are met in all activities;
- Keep statistical records for the development programme;
- Manage budget for the development activities of the ICF
- Other Duties:
- Management of educational programmes of the ICF
- Oversee ITO training programmes
- Support Paracanoe Development activities
- Manage Sport Science projects
Profile
- Experience in coaching Canoe/kayak
- Sports administration experience
- Knowledge of organising training and coaching activities
- Team player
- Ability to multi-task
- Attention to detail
- Good communication skills
- Good computer skills
- Enthusiasm for sport
- English language essential/French preferable
