Job Description

Role Summary            

  • This role has the primary responsibility for revenue generation by identifying new digital business development opportunities across Lagardere Sports UK’s digital rights portfolio, and leading an end-to-end sales process from lead identification and first approach, to final negotiation and contract
  • Aim to  become a successful fee earner by being a ‘best-in-class’ sales representative and technical digital expert, and contributing to the ongoing growth of the organization
  • Build, sell and implement digital product / sponsorship campaigns across professional Football Clubs and a variety of UK sports rights holders and digital platforms

Key Responsibilities               

  • B2B sales to new clients, using over-the-phone techniques to affect an introduction, maintain ongoing dialogue and generate face-to-face meetings
    • Clients can range from various industries and sizes, from international corporates to domestic SME’s
  • Leading self-generated sales meetings with both international and domestic clients to pitch digital products, understand client objectives, build relationships and ultimately secure revenue for the business
    • International travel may be required
  • Lead identification by using sound product knowledge and understanding of sports marketing theory and digital expertise to target relevant clients, industries and geographies
  • Significant input in to the development and packaging of digital rights in to tailored sponsorship campaigns or digital advertising campaigns
  • Preparation, management and implementation of digital marketing workshops with brands and creation of bespoke pitches and campaigns based on the outcome of these workshops
  • Work closely with other Lagardere Sports sales teams to brief on digital product portfolio and enable other teams to contribute to sales effort
  • Work successfully with other sales teams on joint-management of sales process where required
  • Upsell digital sponsorship/activation campaigns to existing Rights Holder sponsors
  • Ensure successful campaign implementation & KPI optimization in cooperation with campaign management team.
  • Liase with Rights Holders where required to secure digital rights and product information, and create innovative and saleable proposals
  • Support the Sales Director, the Digital Manager, the Brand Services Director and different employees from time to time on other projects, including but not limited to; sales asset creation; creative campaign generation; event management etc
  • Reporting accurately on sales activity, pipeline opportunities, forecasted results 
  • Work with the Sales Director to develop a strategic sales plan around digital product sales, giving specific focus to:
    • Historic sponsors and categories
    • Industry and sector focus
    • Geographical relevance
    • Capacity to buy
    • Sales hooks and pitch
    • Decision making structures
  • Work with the Marketing Team, the Digital Campaign Development team to design and continually upgrade partnership collateral ensuring that all commercial presentations are at a high standard
  • Following successful sales, work with the businesses legal and finance departments to create robust commercial agreements if required
  • Ensure strong after-sales relationship management where necessary to enhance renewal percentages and cross-sales activity
  • Represent Lagardere Sports to the broader market in a way that is consistent with the high standards and professional approach expected of employees

Experience      

Essential:

  • Previous telesales experience
  • Experience of a high volume, pressurised sales environment
  • A track record of delivering revenue through sales
  • Knowledge, understanding and experience of digital media (web, mobile, social, video) and/or digital sponsorship
  • Understanding of wider digital content marketing
  • Passion for sports & football
  • Strong organisational skills and hands-on-approach
  • Team player & self-starter
  • Committed, resilient and flexible
  • Competent on Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
  • Four Years Sales Experience

Preferred but not essential:

  • Experience in digital sales or activation
  • Sports Marketing sales experience
  • Degree Qualification
  • Four years+ Sales Experience
  • Three years+ Digital Media Experience
  • Skills in Adobe CC (especially Photoshop) appreciated
