The Sports Surgery Clinic is a JCI accredited Private Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Hospital in Dublin which opened in 2007. It is a leading centre internationally for the treatment of Orthopaedics, Spinal, Sport and Exercise related injuries and Sports Medicine.  

The clinic has five ultra clean operating theatres, a world class Diagnostic Imaging Department with two MRIs, 64 slice CT, and MSK specialist radiologist-led ultrasound service. Services include Sports Cardiology, Exercise Physiology, 3D-Biomechanics, Strength and Conditioning and Physiotherapy.  In-patient facilities include 84 beds with en-suite bathrooms and showers, along with entertainment systems.   

In 2017 the Sports Surgery Clinic will open a brand new custom designed 10,000 sq ft Sports Medicine and Performance centre with Sports Medicine, Strength and Conditioning, Rehabiliation, Biomechanics, Running and Research facilities currently seeing over 34,000 patients a year and expected to rise to 50,000 per annum in the next 18 months. 

Facilities will include, 3 embedded Woodway treadmills with Video feedback, 8  Eliko equipped lifting platforms including 2 with Gym Aware, 2D video feeback and embedded force plates, ideo wall 3D VICON biomechanics laboratoires, Visual distraction retraining technology along wth Exercise Physiology  analysis and Full Concussion suite analysis including King Devick, Visual tracking Goggles and Neck strain assessment. 

The current Sports Medicine and Performance team is comprised of a staff of over 60 personnel including administration, Consultant Sports Physicians, Physiotherapists, Biomechanics and Strength and Conditioning Staff. 

The Department is seeking an additional Strength and Conditioning Coach/Sports Scientist to provide technical support and expertise nationally and internationally for our field based performance/return to play biomechanics solutions as well as providing clinical support to our rehabilitation department.  

The role will be based from SSC Dublin but will involve extensive travel to provide product support to elite clubs as well as ongoing online support. The role will see the candidate work on site with clubs to upskill their staff in the use of the tests and software and its transition into their performance and return to play testing protocols. They will then provide ongoing remote support in product support and analysis. In addition it is expected that the candidate will take on a clinical workload in a speciality clinical area such as Athletic Groin Pain, ACL Rehabilitation, Back Pain, or Ankle rehabilitation as part of our rehabilitation team. 

The successful candidate would ideally have previous experience in an elite team environment and be experienced in the use and interpretation of injury and performance data management solutions. They should have a high degree of IT proficiency and a fleuncy in Spanish is preferable.
