Job Description

Overall purpose

The overall purpose of this role is to support two members of the executive team and help them to be effective and efficient in delivering  projects within ECB, across the cricket network and with external media and public affairs stakeholders.

The role would be split approximately 50/50 as follows:

50% Assistance for the Communications Director

  • Diary management
  • Arranging and booking travel
  • General administrative duties such as processing of expenses and invoices, document preparation and meeting arranging 
  • Management and coordination of events and department meetings

A core responsibility will be input of key dates and maintenance of the Communications Grid – the central planning document.

50% Assistance for the Director of Strategy

  • Diary management
  •  Arranging and booking travel
  • General administrative duties such as processing of expenses, document preparation and meeting arranging 
  • Management and coordination of events and department meetings
  • Acting as a trusted aide and supporting the Director in his day to day activity as required

The role will also involve helping the teams to work together when appropriate and to link these teams effectively across the organisation. As part of this they will be assigned projects to coordinate, set on a quarterly basis.

Complexity

The roles requires a level head and no nonsense approach whilst retaining a good sense of humour and exceptional attention to detail.

They must be able to balance workloads across the two departments, taking guidance from two Directors and able to work independently.

Impact

The role has a direct impact on business success by being a key part in delivering efficient day to day workings of the two departments, helping to grow the sport and promote Cricket Unleashed, the ECB’s new game wide strategy.

This role will require the confidence, professionalism and maturity to converse with senior personnel in the ECB and across the game as well as a wider group of stakeholders. They must be confident dealing with calls for media and public affairs audiences.

Influence

The role holder is required to interact with numerous senior internal and external stakeholders, for example; 

Internally – All areas of the ECB
Externally – Media, Political contacts, partners, suppliers, First Class Counties political stakeholders.​

The role does not involve any direct management of other people.
