Executive Officer - Softball Victoria
- Lead a healthy and evolving State Sport Organisation
- 'hands-on' role focused on growing the sport
Softball Victoria Inc. is the peak state body affiliated to Softball Australia. Through its network of affiliated associations and clubs, Softball Victoria provides the opportunity for anyone interested in fun, fitness and friendships to participate in softball competitions, development programs and activities which are accessible to all, no matter their experience, skill, age or ability level. Pathways are also provided for individuals who strive for intrastate, state, or the ultimate, national selection representing Australia at World Championships and other International events. Softball Victoria's strategic plan is aligned with the national plan, which is delivered in conjunction with many good partners.
Reporting to the Board through the Chair, the Executive Officer provides leadership, direction and overall management of all activities, business operations and services delivered by Softball Victoria. The role also works with the Board in the development of the strategic plan, and will manage its implementation to achieve the organisation’s vision.
This ‘hands-on’ role requires a dynamic leader with strong communication skills who is able to engage with a diverse stakeholder group and demonstrate the ability to develop and nurture key relationships within the softball community, including volunteer coaches, officials and administrators at the grassroots level. In addition to operational excellence, the role has a focus on building participation and membership, whilst developing and maintaining a network between stakeholder groups, commercial/funding partners and member clubs/associations.
To be considered for this role you will have a strong track record in strategic leadership, demonstrated staff and operational management experience with a focus on member services. You will have a demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and activities at once whilst maintaining a high level of attention to detail, delivering projects both on time and on budget.
An understanding of the Australian sporting landscape and a thorough knowledge and appreciation of softball will be an advantage but is not a necessity, however you must be committed to providing strong foundations for the growth of the sport in Victoria.
This is a unique opportunity to lead a healthy and evolving State Sporting Organisation.
