ABOUT THE RACECOURSE:

Reporting to the Head of Operations and Events you will be responsible for the delivery of all 26 race days per year to ensure our Ascot values are reflected at every opportunity to over 600,000 guests. Your role will be to deliver an uplifting experience for each race day which include Royal Ascot, Festival of Food & Wine, Halloween & Fireworks and our Christmas racedays. You will be responsible for site presentation ensuring it adheres to racecourse and brand standards whilst overseeing the site accreditation process.
You will manage and continue to develop a permanent team, contractors and temporary staff of over 1000, whilst working with the HR department to support the overall Ascot Way training strategy.
Working closely with relevant managers and departments you will oversee the schedule and delivery of the on-site race day plan including performers, entertainment, temporary enclosures and branding in alignment with the three year strategy plan.
You will also be required to work with the Event Build Manager in the planning and delivery of temporary facilities as well as supporting the Event Project Manager to deliver events outside of racing.
IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR THE ROLE:
Educated to a degree level or equivalent, you will be conversant with all relevant legislations. You will have gained the following qualifications; Level 4 Crowd Management, IOSH or NEBOSH and have an understanding of the green and purple guides.
You have previously worked at senior management level at large or multi-site venues. You will be an effective communicator and confidently manage and inspire teams. You will manage a budget over £2 million and great attention to detail will be second nature to you.
Ideally you would have demonstrable experience in dealing with; onsite security, stewarding, car parking and traffic management. You will be able to come up with ideas and effectively see them through to delivery in areas such as retail and entertainment. You will have the ability to place yourself in the guest’s shoes to understand the site plan and the look and feel of each race day.
