About the role
As Sports Rights Manager you will work closely with the Head of Sports Rights to exploit all opportunities to develop the Sports Rights portfolio and develop the Sports Rights strategy, leading some rights negotiations. The current portfolio of rights consists of Radio Sport, TV Football, Snooker, Bowls, Darts and Motor Sport, Olympic Sports, Athletics, Tennis, Rugby Union and Rugby League which will be split across the team. You will also be responsible for rights holder engagement planning and other associated commercial responsibilities.
About you
With demonstrable experience of handling complex negotiations in the broadcasting industry within a legal or business role you will have a high level of external industry awareness and standard legal and business affairs practice within broadcasting. The ability to think strategically, and take in a broad overview of business issues and the ability to initiate and foster new approaches is essential as is the ability to build productive relationships with a wide range of people. You will also develop a network of useful contacts both externally and internally to the BBC.
