Master in Sport Business Strategy (SBS) launch English website
Our academic partner Master in Sport Business Strategy (SBS) has launched a new website in English and it’s is now online.
SBS is the leading Italian advanced education program in sport. Running a 1-year full time post-graduate course in partnership with the University of Venice since 2005.
The website contains all the information about the program, the application process, the faculty and the numerous activities operated within the School.
These five areas are the main competencies addressed by the course:
- sport management
- sporting goods industry marketing & communication;
- sport marketing & events management
- sport facilities & venue management;
- international sport business
- presentation & soft skills.
Lectures are held either by, both national and international, academics, scholars or business experts and managers.
After six months at the Campus in Treviso, close to Venice, students will have the opportunity to experience a minimum of three months internship.
The program is further enriched by international study trips. Every year the students can visit a destination abroad (either European or North American) and get a hands-on understanding of world-class facilities and best practices in sport management. In particular, SBS has been visiting Toronto since the very first editions of the Master thanks to the strong relationships with Maple Leaf Sports Entertainment, a giant company owner of NBA, NHL and MLS local franchises.
More than 330 junior sport managers have been graduated so far and a placement rate of 85% is the best evidence of the quality of the program.
The application process for the 12th edition starting in September 2016 is going to begin next spring and end in June. A numerous clausus of 35 students will attend the classes next year, after a selection process which guarantees the high level of service and the upmost return for the students, either in terms of knowledge transfer or in terms of practical experiences and industry networking.
Internationalisation is now the new challenge for the course and the English version of the website is a mandatory step aimed at attracting interest of international applicants.
Since 2012 the Master SBS has been ranked among the Top 25 World’s Best MBA in Sport, by The Sport Business Group and going more international will add value to its program and confirm its reputation as a leading academic course in this rapidly fast-growing, yet competitive industry worldwide.
Visiting professors from abroad are expected at the campus in Treviso next year and brand-new areas of teaching have been planned in order to meet the higher complexity of the international sports arena.
Exchange programs have been put in place between Treviso and the Sport Management School of Paris and others are in the pipeline.
Finally, the panel of the corporate partners, well representing the domestic sport system, is going to be integrated and extended through brand-new international partnerships with Clubs and sport organizations aimed at offering additional opportunities of internships and employment to the students.
